I’m really excited to share with you today, our plans for MindforYou during 2020/21. I’m also writing to ask for your help as we prepare to transition from a social business to a ‘not for profit’ community benefit society. It was back in 2015 that we first welcomed families living with dementia on a MindforYou holiday and we have just posted a video on social media of our first guest, Rodney, telling the world just how important that first MFY holiday was to him. Rodney’s since gone on to enjoy no fewer than 7 holidays with us. I’m so proud to be able to tell you that we’ve now opened the world of holidays to over a 1000 people living with dementia. And the impact of those holidays is there for all to see in the academic analysis undertaken by Bangor University During ‘Lockdown’ we’ve been busy thinking about what’s next for MindforYou. We’ve decided that by becoming a community benefit society, which is a type of Cooperative, we can continue to develop the organisation alongside like-minded people who share our ethos and values. We can expand our services, support more people and ensure that the costs of holidays remain competitive. That’s why I’d love to hear from you if you or somebody you know would like to help shape and inform the future of MindforYou. To understand more about our plans to create a very special community enabling families living with dementia to continue to live well, please contact me on 07722416996 or by email @ firstname.lastname@example.org One thing we keep hearing from our guests is just how important it is to be part of the MindforYou family; another being how special the memories we help to create, have been and continue to be. Together I am convinced we can plan for the next five hugely exciting years and create even more wonderful memories.
Thank You and please do get in touch if you’d like to get involved.
