For many years the custo dian of the Church of the Open Door, now, during his retirement, Mr. Fries en is still actively building various needed items for both the Church and the Bible Institute of Los Angeles. His wife usually reads to him, “be cause she’s a better reader,” he ex plains. “My father was a farmer, a builder and a preacher. They came from Russia although of Dutch back ground and settled down in Lincoln County, Nebraska.” Mr. Friesen has been active in the service of Christ through many years. He and his wife live on property ad joining the Biola Campus in La Mir ada. “ I retired when I was 81,” Mr. Friesen comments, “ but since then I still have many things to do. We have built houses and other pieces of furniture. My main interest, however, is only in working for the Lord and giving my time for His service.” It’s impossible to say how many houses Mr. Friesen has built.
