areas, as we have endeavored to serve young people who sought ad mission in the past years, then we must prepare now not only to meet present needs but also to expand. To start preparations two or three years hence will be too late; we will have already lost ground. It is recognized that ultimately there will be a saturation point beyond which we cannot accommodate any more students. But w e do not be lieve for a moment that such a saturation point has been reached at this time. The world is caring for its own by providing outstanding secular educational facilities. Frequently we read of educationally-minded wealthy men who provide millions of dollars for secular educational in stitutions in order that they might train worthy young men and wom en. This is wonderful and we are not criticizing such gifts in the least. But that type of individual is not interested in making possible the training of Christian young people in the type of curriculum that we at BIOTA have to offer. W e must depend upon Christian people who believe as we believe and who want young people taught and trained in the Word of God and the things of the Lord, as well as related secular subjects, as we are prepared to train them. For this reason, BIOTA appeals to you to help ^ s in this great training pro gram which is offered here. This editorial is directed especial ly toward the needs of BIOTA at this particular time. The editor would like to add just this personal word. Many outstanding Christian colleges and Bible schools exist throughout the country, an appre ciable number of which advertise in the pages o f this magazine. From time to time they, too, have special drives which are aimed to improve their facilities and their training programs so that they may do a better job of preparing an ever-in creasing number o f young people seeking admission. Most assuredly w e would commend them also to our readers for special consideration at those times, so that this phase of the Lord’s work will in no wise be thwarted or handicapped but instead that adequate training might be provided for all Christian young people everywhere who are seeking the Lord’s highest and best. Fill Up the Life of a Forlorn Child With Hope, Love, Purpose and Security In Korea it costs so little to provide shelter, food, clothing and all other necessities, including public school tuition. For only $8 a month -— just 26 pennies a day — the orphan you sponsor will receive loving care, Christian training and education. Above all, he will he taught from the Bible and be led to receive Jesus Christ as his personal Saviour. Why not interest your Sunday School or another organization group, or invite a friend or relative to join you as a co-sponsor, only $4 each a month? The orphan you select will know you as sponsor. The child’s picture, life history, name and address and also the picture and story of the Orphanage will be mailed to you. Letters and pack ages which you may send establish warm personal contact with your orphan. Replies and acknowledgments are prompt and in English. Sponsors report that this relationship THRILLS and BLESSES, just as the Lord has greatly blessed the work of the ESEA. Hundreds of little ones in our Orphanages, rescued from tragedy, despair and abandonment, are hoping for a “ Daddy and Mommie” or “ Big Sister or Brother.” New sponsors are desperately needed. Help Save Abandoned Children Many desperate people, without work and physical necessi ties, are forced to abandon their children. Government authorities bring many of these children to our Homes. The following references to parents, taken from recent case histories of orphans, are illuminating: “ Parents unknown,” “ Father died, mother killed in a fall,” “Mother insane,” “ Father killed in action,” “ Frozen to death,” “ Committed suicide,” “ Killed by Communists,” etc. Read of These Two Pathetic Cases No. Z-4 above is Lee M i Hyun. Her father, a soldier, was killed in action. Her mother remarried and later died in childbirth. When the stepfather refused to care for her, she went to live with her poverty-stricken grandmother. A Christian evangelist brought her to our Orphanage when he found her begging from door to door. No. Z-5 is Kim Sung Chul. His father died of disease in 1958. The following year, destitute and starving, his mother hung herself. His grandmother cared for him for a short time, but, being in dire need herself, brought him to our Orphanage. Grasp this God-given opportunity to help train up a future Christian leader in Korea.
