fresh mindset
fresh mindset As a young mom, I rarely opened up to others. Eventually, I began to share life experiences with other moms and discovered the beauty of being ‘real’ and the comforts of a supportive community. This doesn’t mean you have to start a daily blog detailing every aspect of your life, but the next time someone asks, ‘How are you?’ give yourself permission to be honest. You might be surprised by the advice, encouragement, and connection that comes your way.
Gena DiMuro is a Colorado native, marketing manager, and proud mom. She embraced the role of “stay-at- home mom” for nearly a decade for her daughters, Siena, 16, and Brooklyn, 14. Gena said she always wanted to be a stay-at-home mom, but as her daughters grew, she realized she missed the exciting challenges she encountered at work. Now, Gena serves as the Marketing Manager for the Performing Arts Academy-Colorado. Although Gena discovered she could be both Mom and Marketer, she wants to normalize the message that you can’t do it all. She is passionate about her mental health, supporting other parents, and realizing there are limits to what someone can do. As a growing parent, Gena has found a tried and true method for making difficult decisions that may not even involve your children. Whenever she is stuck, she asks herself, “What would I tell 30-year-old Siena and Brooklyn to do?” Gena finds this brings immediate clarity to most situations and helps determine the best answer. As a family, the DiMuros love to play pickleball and travel, visiting different places all over the country.
