The University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) is a leading modern University and one of the UK’s largest with a student and staff community approaching 38,000. The UCLan core campus in the University’s home city of Preston covers a significant swathe of the city (an area of approximately 15 hectares with 63 buildings) and has commenced a £200m Campus Masterplan. UCLan has also invested significantly in recent years in its Burnley campus to serve Pennine Lancashire. Collectively the campus estate creates an eclectic and highly visible built environment to support UCLan’s Mission and Strategic Aims. UCLan is seeking to make the crucial leadership appointment to the role of Assistant Director of Estates. Reporting to the Director of Estates Services and Capital Projects, the postholder will play a key role in the development and realisation of the estates strategy with specific responsibility for capital development, estates maintenance and property & space management.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record of leading and implementing estates strategies across large-scale, high-footfall estates portfolios for complex and diverse organisations. We are seeking an individual with broad estates management experience, with proven experience of leading estates operations across a large-scale portfolio, together with knowledge and experience of capital programme delivery. To be a success in the role you will need to be highly motivated and results-focused with excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills. You will develop and manage a large and diverse team therefore experience of leading teams of estates professionals is essential.
