sblive Xero Guide

There are a number of options available, as detailed below: -

➢ Email Payslips – this allows you to send a copy of an employees’ payslip to them, on the assumption that their email address has been entered on their employee record (see earlier guidance.) The payslip they receive will be password protected for their safety and the email provides instructions on how to open it. The password itself is based on details you’ve entered into their employee record in Xero.

➢ Download payslips – this allows you to download and open the payslips in a PDF format. From this page you can then save or print copies, as required.

➢ View Payroll Activity Details / Summary Report – this is a report in a PDF format that confirms the breakdown of the pay run.

➢ Download P32 – A P32 report confirms the amount of PAYE and National Insurance payable to HM Revenue and Customs. This is split on a monthly basis and will also detail SMP, SPP, SSP, Student Loans etc. ➢ Download BACS File – this option allows you to download the payment details for the employees as a CSV file, which could then be uploaded directly to your online banking. Unfortunately, all banks have different formats, so there will be some tailoring required in order to get this to work. We believe Xero are working on this.

We have also found a Gross to Net Report that can be useful to run. This is found from the Accounting tab and selecting Reports.
