VETS CONNECT @ PVCC A Mentoring & Advocacy Program for Veterans VETS Connect aims to enrich the college experience for new student veterans by linking them with successful retired veterans and volunteers. The program provides support to military personnel transitioning to higher education and future civilian careers. All military- related students enrolled at PVCC are encouraged to participate in the program. VETS Connect is designed to empower student veterans in their transition from the military to life on campus and beyond, using a holistic approach in providing a support network that is integrated with Student Services at PVCC. Mentors are trained volunteers committed to helping students: • Scheduled Weekly Office Hours • Math Tutoring • Academic Coaching • Campus Tours To apply to become a mentor or register to become a mentee, contact Veterans Services by emailing vetsconnect@pvcc.edu .

Need Help Getting Started? Attend a Free Veterans Transition & Education Session (VETS) Group advising sessions are held on Thursdays from 10 a.m. to noon in the Main Building on PVCC’s Main Campus. Sessions are free and are open to the general public. Upcoming 2019 Sessions: • November 7, 2019 • November 14, 2019 • December 5, 2019 • December 12, 2019 Individual advising sessions are also available from 1 to 5 p.m. following the group session. Spaces are limited and slots will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Register online at www.pvcc.edu/veterans . At the session, students will receive information about placement assessments, career services, transfer of college credits, selecting a major, and more. Students will also receive assistance applying for: • Admissions • Financial Aid • VA Educational benefits • In-State Tuition Military Exceptions
