WORKFORCE SERVICES & CONTINUING EDUCATION

PVCC’s Workforce Services Division provides programming and short-term training for industry certification, professional development, career advancement, personal enrichment, and youth career education. Popular programs include allied healthcare offerings such as phlebotomy and certified nursing assistant (CNA); viticulture and craft brewing; unmanned aerial systems (UAS); commercial driver’s license (CDL) training; welding; and business courses. Learn more at www.pvcc.edu/workforce .

According to the National Skills Coalition, almost half of the job openings in Virginia between 2010 and 2020 will require some post-high school education, but not necessarily a bachelor’s degree. To land these jobs applicants need industry-recognized credentials, certifications and licenses. These programs are called “FastForward” because they help Virginians train for fulfilling new careers in weeks or months, instead of semesters or years. FastForward programs are offered at PVCC and other VCCS colleges. Limited funding is available for select programs. See a list of eligible programs or learn more at www.pvcc.edu/fastforward .
