EXCELLENCE STARTS HERE: HONORS PROGRAM Develop academic and leadership skills through PVCC’s Honors Program. Honors classes are smaller and more interactive and provide excellent preparation for transfer to competitive colleges and universities. What are the benefits of joining the Honors Program? • All Honors courses are noted on the student’s transcript. • Students who completed 15 credits of Honors courses with a GPA of 3.5 or higher will receive the Honors Diploma and an Honors medallion that can be worn with their graduation regalia. • Honors students participate in extracurricular activities that include leadership development and service, and many students qualify for unique scholarships. • Several Honors students have been recognized at the national level by being named to the All-USA Community College Academic First Team and at the state level as New Century Scholars (i.e., the top community college student in Virginia). Others have received scholarships and academic awards at PVCC. To learn more, contact: Honors Program Coordinator John Gulley at jgulley@pvcc.edu or 434.961.5363, or visit www.pvcc.edu/honors .
