Junior Golf Booklet 2024

2024 JUNIOR GOLF LEVELS

In 2024 we will continue utilizing Junior Golf Skill Levels in order to help parents place their juniors into the correct summer golf offerings. These levels will ensure that juniors are in a class that meets their skill level and are paired with juniors of a similar skill set. If a parent is unsure what level their junior falls into, please speak with a Golf Professional Staff member. Level 1: Juniors ages 5-7 with little to no prior golf experience. Level 1 Juniors are beginning to work on achieving Orange Operation 36 pins. The best fit for Level 1 juniors will be the Summer Day Camp. Day Camp provides juniors an opportunity to learn the basic fundamentals of the golf swing in a group setting. Juniors that are a part of the Day Camp will have golf class for forty-five minutes three days a week. Level 2: Juniors ages 7-10 with limited golf experience, beginning to work on completing their Operation 36 Orange skill pins. We recommend that juniors who fit the Level 2 criteria participate in the Summer Day Camp or Orange & Yellow Junior Golf Classes. Juniors will have an opportunity to develop their existing skills and begin working toward their Operation 36 skill pins. Level 3: Juniors ages 7-12 who have a shown a moderate understanding of the fundamentals of the golf swing and are working to complete their Operation 36 Orange & Yellow skill pins. These juniors will best fit into Orange & Yellow Junior Golf Classes (part of the Summer Sports Camp) which includes golf for an hour and thirty minutes five days a week. Level 4: Juniors ages 10-13 who are working on completing their Operation 36 Green Skill Pins in order to obtain their Merit Tag. These juniors will best fit into Advanced Golf Academy Classes (part of the Summer Sports Camp). Level 4 Juniors will have golf class five days a week for two hours. Level 5: Juniors ages 12-15 who have their Merit Tag and are looking to accelerate their skills in preparation for high school & tournament golf. These juniors will best fit into Advanced Golf Academy Classes (part of the Summer Sports Camp) which has golf class two hours per day, five days a week in the summer. MERIT TAGS Merit Tags are awarded to juniors who have demonstrated proficiency through a series of skill tests covering rules, putting, driving, and scoring. These skill tests are administered by the Golf Professional Staff and provide objective levels of proficiency that a junior golfer must meet in order to play on the course without a parent.
