COASTE | OCT - NOV 2016

COASTE | EDITOR’S WELCOME

THE MORE THINGS CHANGE

Sometime between the publication of this issue and its expiration at the end of November, a new President of the United States will have been elected — and with that decision, whatever the decision, the country we live in will forever change. We can only hope and pray for the better. Fortunately for those who call Southwest Florida home, or second home, or vacation destination, October and November promise us a variety of pretty pleasant changes upon which we can rely. No voting required. At some point these next months, we’ll wake up one morning — and the blanketing humidity of summer will have been lifted away. The almost daily deluge of afternoon showers will be noticeably absent, too, giving way to clear, brilliant blue skies. The days will turn comfortably cooler and shorter. But yes, roads to restaurants — and almost everything in between —will fill up and slow down, too. It’s paradise, not perfection. With our October-November issue, we celebrate the coming of a new season with stories of Southwest Florida favorites — like sand sculpting, fine arts, sea shelling and more. You’ll find (as always) one of the most comprehensive directories anywhere of area performances, attractions and events. And however you’re reading — print or digital magazine, in a lounge chair or at your computer — we hope you’ll enjoy turning every page of COASTE and our multi-media lifestyle network that’s always (and exclusively) free to you, our valued followers. Thank you.
