MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION Become a member and join the excitement! Use of the Rowlett Community Centre is available for Rowlett Residents and Non-Residents. Rowlett Residents may receive the resident membership rate by presenting two forms of identification establishing Rowlett residency. An annual membership is valid for one year from date of purchase. Monthly memberships are valid for 30 days from date of purchase. Please present your membership card at the front desk each time you visit the facility. A $5 daily drop-in fee will be assessed when the membership card is not presented. Replacement cards may be purchased for $5. Guests 17 years and younger must have a release form signed by a parent or legal guardian before being issued a membership card or day pass. Children ages 6 and under must always be supervised by a guardian over the age of 16 years. Sessions will have a focus on specific skills, each broken down to its key elements to help the athlete understand and develop a solid foundation. Participants will learn how to set realistic goals and work through problems or obstacles independently and as a member of a team. Core Skills: Dribbling, Shooting, Passing, Rebounding and Defense. Participants need to bring water bottle and a basketball. Beginner (Activity 320803) - Ages 5-11: Geared towards young athletes that have not played or may have little experience. This athlete struggles with basic skills such as dribbling, shooting, passing, or body control. A high level of attention will be given to developing core skills. Intermediate (Activity 320804) - Ages 9-15: Designed for players with some basketball experience. This athlete can generally dribble, shoot, and pass with ease. This level will reinforce development of the core skills in addition to strengthening body control and footwork. Athletes at this level will also learn team offensive and defensive concepts such as screening, cutting, coverage, and movement with and without the ball. Advanced (Activity 320805) - Ages 12-17: Designed for athletes who excel in most areas of basketball and are preparing to compete in higher-level settings such as tournaments, school teams, and showcases. This class focuses on advanced techniques, in-depth strategies, and complex team concepts. With a strong emphasis on individual development, athletes will refine their skills, enhance decision-making, and elevate their overall game to new heights.

We employ a mixed martial arts approach with a focus on real world application of self-defense principals including target hardening, situational awareness, pre-assault recognition, mindset, verbal tools, psychological tools, and situational application of hand-to-hand combatives. Learn how to protect yourself, be more confident and aware in our non-sport, reality based, self-defense system. We can help kids understand how to manage altercations with bullies (that are school friendly), and adults confidently navigate environments and altercations safely. The Parks and Recreation Department partners with DART to provide day pass vouchers valid for all DART transportation. To receive these passes, proof of Rowlett residency is required and you must be 60 years or older. ARTISTS ROUND TEXAS Third Sunday of each month 2 - 5 p.m. Artists Round Texas is dedicated to inspiring and growing the arts community in Rowlett and surrounding areas. We hold member meetings that feature presentations on various art styles. Our workshops, often led by visiting artists, are open to members, guests, and youth ages 12+. We also organize museum field trips and two juried art shows annually at the Rowlett Public Library: the Paint and Photograph Rowlett Show in Spring and the Small Works Show in Fall. Our goal is to help participants develop healthy habits and learn safe ways to stretch, bend, and strengthen their muscles. All exercises are set to music, making it an enjoyable experience for everyone. Spots in this class fill up quickly, so be sure to register early, starting on the 15th of the month prior. This program was developed to keep joints flexible, muscles strong, and to help reduce pain and stiffness associated with arthritis. You will use stretchy bands, weights, and music to stretch and strengthen the major muscle groups and joints.
