Playing bingo can help improve cognitive function by enhancing memory and concentration as participants keep track of their cards. It also encourages social interaction, reducing feelings of loneliness and isolation, which is vital for emotional well-being. Additionally, the act of marking cards can improve fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. Overall, bingo provides a lively way for seniors to stay engaged, promote mental agility, and foster community connections.
ARTISTS ROUND TEXAS Third Sunday of each month 2 - 5 p.m. Artists Round Texas is dedicated to inspiring and growing the arts community in Rowlett and surrounding areas. We hold member meetings that feature presentations on various art styles. Our workshops, often led by visiting artists, are open to members, guests, and youth ages 12+. We also organize museum field trips and two juried art shows annually at the Rowlett Public Library: the Paint and Photograph Rowlett Show in Spring and the Small Works Show in Fall. These events showcase diverse media, including paintings, photography, sculpture, and more. Additionally, we display art at Rowlett City Hall, the Annex building, and Opa! Greek Restaurant.
