ROSE MYRTLE The rose myrtle fruit is cultivated in Phu Quoc and Vietnam’s mainland. The fruit carries a great significance for Phu Quoc. Here the fruit is “sublimated” into a special kind of alcohol with a fascinating dark violet color. PEPPER Phu Quoc is the best place to grow pepper trees, due to the island’s climate, mineral-rich soil, abundant sunshine, and fresh ocean air. Phu Quoc pepper is famous for its spice and fragrance, with a stronger taste than other common types of peppers. Pepper is considered as a fruitful legacy of the favorable land, weather, and long-standing culture in Phu Quoc. KING’S WELL The legend follows a tale of the last king of Vietnam, Nguyen Lord or King Gia Long, and his venture to runway from his enemies to Phu Quoc. The legend carries significant local symbols of luck - the spring of water accompanied by lucky rice fish. PEARL The calm waters off Phu Quoc island are ideal for oysters to create pearls. According to experts in pearl cultivation, Phu Quoc pearls are ranked among the world’s most beautiful and precious pearls. The color of Phu Quoc pearl is very diverse, including black pearl and rare gold pearl. ANCHOVY Legend has it that there were innumerable small fishes afloating from the point where Lord Nguyen dug the sword down in the ground to save his army from starvation. Hence, it was also named Rice Fish in Vietnamese. Owing to that, Anchovy has become the Legend of Luck and Blessing given by Highest in local belief. CORAL REEFS Phu Quoc is home to stunning Coral Reefs that cover 480 hectares and feature over 100 species of corals. Coral Reefs provide a habitat for a large variety of marine life and many species of fish. Off the coast of An Thoi Archipelago, this underwater ecosystem is known as Phu Quoc’s ocean treasure. STARFISH Phu Quoc is home to a collection of gorgeous starfish. Located in the North of Phu Quoc, Rach Vem is famous for the warm shallows of the clean and tranquil shoreline and is frequented by dozens of red starfish.
