Revisit the remarkable Taste Studio series of Regent Phu Quoc
Since 2023, Regent Phu Quoc has brought this philosophy to life through a series of remarkable Taste Studio events, each a testament to the resort’s commitment to culinary innovation and cultural immersion: In April 2023, the resort presented “ The Dialogue Between the Land, the Sea and its People.” This theatrical culinary performance, divided into seven acts, paid homage to Phu Quoc’s rich heritage. Adding another layer of artistry, fashion designer and abstract artist, Ms. Devon Nguyen, created a bespoke “Capsule Collection” of gowns inspired by the event and the island’s natural beauty. November 2023 saw the unveiling of “ An Odyssey to Vietnam” a captivating four-night event celebrating Vietnamese folklore and mythology. Held at the reimagined Ocean Club restaurant, the event brought together culinary talents like Oku Chef de Cuisine Andy Huynh, Ocean Club Chef de Cuisine Daniel Huynh, celebrity guest chef Hoang Tung, and renowned mixologist Richard McDonough. Creative technologists AC3 Studio, local artist Pham Hong Minh, and the drum performers of Trong Dong Band further enriched the experience, weaving together a narrative inspired by the ancient Dragon and Fairy (Phoenix) myth. Most recently, in November 2024, Regent Phu Quoc hosted “The Way of the Sea” . This year’s Taste Studio seamlessly blended artistic expression, architectural design, and culinary innovation. Headlined by Spanish celebrity painter Mark Rios (Mr Dripping), local architect Nguyen Trung Nghia, and Regent Phu Quoc’s new executive chef, Francesco Andreoni, the event showcased a pop-up restaurant designed in the elegant form of a sea snail, crafted from sustainable materials like bamboo. The design reflected the rhythmic ebb and flow of the Vietnamese tides, creating a harmonious backdrop for the culinary artistry on display. Looking to the future, Regent Phu Quoc’s Taste Studio promises to continue pushing the boundaries of culinary experiences. Each upcoming event will be a fresh exploration of creativity, a new dialogue between cuisine, culture, and destination. For this special collaboration, Ms. Devon Nguyen, fashion designer and abstract artist, created the “Capsule Collection” of one-of-a-kind gowns, inspired by the Regent Taste Studio, and Phu Quoc’s natural wonders.
