A Conversation with THE
WELLNESS GURU
Wellness used to be a quick pick-me-up such as a Zumba | Reset Studio class and a smoothie after a long day at work. But more and more, the definition of wellness has evolved to encompass both mind and body, with mental health and self love taking the center stage. Wellness travel, though not a novel trend, has surged as a way to combat the isolation due to the global pandemic. In 2024, the need for wellness travel is stronger than ever. This year, the trend is shifting towards sustainability, mindfulness, and personal betterment. Travelers are seeking immersive-wellness retreats, digital detox getaways, and adventure-wellness fusion experiences. Resorts are offering a plethora of choices, from spa sessions, yoga classes and space for meditation, as well as more novel ideas such as culinary wellness with farm-to-table experiences on the rise. Amidst the array of options in wellness programs, travelers might feel overwhelmed. To provide clarity and guidance, Dr. Tomson, Spa & Wellness Manager at the luxury Regent Phu Quoc resort, shares some insight as to what an exceptional wellness retreat should look like.
