CURATOR’S NOTE: “I love this spaceship egg used to promote the final season of Mork & Mindy, when the two title characters were expecting a baby. It has a double history, the egg having been originally used as the president’s escape pod in the cult classic motion picture Escape from New York . I acquired it from a studio driver who was tasked with its disposal, and I would first see it behind his mobile home, buried under tall shrubs and resting on cardboard long since reduced to soggy pulp. This guy was happy to share with my crew his original intention for the oversized egg: ‘to turn into a hot tub or a baby bassinet.’” - James Comisar
