James Comisar is the renowned art market specialist with focused expertise in locating, authenticating and conserving the touchstones of television. He regularly appears in the media to discuss social history and popular culture, and highlights include: The Today Show, CBS Sunday Morning, Entertainment Tonight and Oprah ; Los Angeles Times, New York Times, People, and as guest columnist for the Hollywood Reporter. In 2015, Forbes Magazine named his Comisar Collection “The world’s greatest collection of TV memorabilia.” In addition to archiving the past, Mr. Comisar is committed to those who presently struggle, and has funded thousands of meals at the Los Angeles Mission, raised millions for Project Angel Food, and is presently building awareness for Pasadena Humane. His preservation and community work has been honored by numerous mayors, congresspersons, senators and two US presidents. James lives in gratitude with his wife Amber, daughter Ella, and their recently adopted 14 year-old dog Cocoa.
