Johnny Carson “home base” set (along bottom) from The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson features the “#1 guest” bucket seat (bottom right) that was sat in nightly by sidekick Ed McMahon, and ultimately thousands of guests. This one chair was used over ten years on the program—from the early 1980s to the final show—once upholstered from tan to the current misty-blue with carpeted riser (not pictured); the custom-made mod guest sofa (bottom left) with faint plaid textured pillows on a carpeted riser (not pictured); and the #1 guest table (bottom center) with white round marble top and tulip base that held Ed McMahon’s and each guest's custom co ff ee mug. All objects acquired from Johnny Carson.
