law means that the immigrants coming into the country are useful for its economy. However, if lots of immigrants come in who are unable to work, the government will have to provide welfare for them. Furthermore, immigrants act as competition towards domestic workers and drive down wages. Refugees can possibly enjoy a better standard of living although they may be discriminated against. It is hard to say for sure whether immigration is good or bad but if controlled properly, the benefits of immigration outweigh the costs.
