Did God glorify Himself in the end? Psa. 76:10. PRACTICAL PO INTS (1) Chief priests have too often been ctjief sinners. (2) Lying in wait is lying. (3) One who has access to the Lord can get access to His prisoner. (4) First, let us tell, the Lord, and then tell the captain. (S') This counsel o f respectable, religious men conspired to do the devil’s work. (6) God sometimes works by natural, and sometimes by supernatural means, but God always works. (7) The bond that bound the conspirators was welded in hell. (8) Paul had a divine appointment in Rome, and forty devils could not hinder him. (9) Though we know the Lord means to save, we must use thé means we have.

Had they failed before in Paul’s experi­ ence? 9:23-25; 14:5, 6; 2 Cor. 11:32, 33. Had Paul believing kindred? Rom. 16:7, 11 . Did the nephew’s information worry Paul? 21:13; 22:17-21. Would this apparent hindrance prove a help? 23:23, 24 ; 25:12. ( 2 ) The Circumvention of the Captain, vs. 19-24. Why did the captain lead the youth aside? 24:26. Or, was this in agreement with verse 22? Was Paul’s safe conduct worthy a Ro­ man citizen? vs. 23,24. Should governments protect their citi­ zens at any cost? Psa. 105:14, 15; 2 Kings 6:16, 17, Does God take conspirators in their own craftiness? 1 Cor. 3:19. Was Paul safe in spite o f these enemies? Isa. 54:17. When men work to hinder God’s cause, what does God do? Psa. 91:14-16.
