ment. The manner in which the Word of God is spoken is just as important as the timing and the wording. There should be a deli cacy and a sympathy in presenting even an unpalatable truth in order to make it effective. May all of these goals be sought and lived out in our lives each day through the power of the Holy Spirit.
smoking w icks, He Himself is neither one nor the other. His optimism will be justified by the achievement of His objectives. The divine endowment of the Holy Spirit is necessary to bring full effectiveness for Cod (42:1). God anointed Jesus with the Holy Spirit and with power (Acts 10:38). All that He wrought was by the power of the Holy Spirit. How could we ever attempt what our divine Example would not do? We should never embark on a minis try for the Lord without being def initely anointed by the Holy Spirit. God does not give the Spirit by measure (John 3:34). It is only our capacity to receive which regulates the supply. Paul had learned this lesson, too (Philippians 1:19). What happened to Christ at the River Jordan, and what happened to the Church at Pentecost, must happen to us if we are to fulfill Cod's ideal as servants of His. One thing we need is to have our lips touched by the fire from heaven (Isaiah 6:7). The flame of God's truth can purge our hearts and minds before Him. There must be a burning up of the carnal and fleshly so that there can be a burn ing in of the spiritual. We must have open ears (Isaiah 50:4). Our first concern should be to listen to the voice of God that we may be obedient to Him. We should have an instructed tongue (Isaiah 50:4). The world is full of people who are weary and heavy laden. They are physically worn because of the hardness of life's way. They are spiritually sick because of sorrow and the wages of sin. God's ser vant, who preaches, teaches and lives the Word, can bring that nec essary refreshment and enlighten
