ally means "to be equipped." The reference is to being thoroughly equipped. In this way, then, we see that it is actually Scripture which should program believers. The Word of Cod must be taken into the life consistently and con tinually. Scripture is able to touch any area of life or experience, re gardless of who you are, where you may be living, or what your particular circumstances happen to be. A life, programmed by the Word, can process any data that is presented. For this reason, we ought to be in a place where we can receive constant Bible teach ing, as well as in our own lives earnestly studying and applying Cod's truths. To understand the will of God we need the proper foundational base of the Word of God. Scrip ture equips us fully to live accord ing to the Lord's purposes and desires for us. In the Bible we are given specific precepts and details as well as general directions and guidelines. As an example, Paul urges us, "Wherefore, putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbor" (Ephesians 4:25). One could not get much more ex plicit on the necessity of telling the truth. The Word is filled with such direct and detailed instruc tions. There are also general principles spelled out for us. For example, we are told that we should not, as believers, be "unequally yoked to gether with unbelievers" (II Corin thians 6:14). This is an important precept of separation. We should apply it in detail to discover the will of God. This is true in busi ness as well as social relationships. Perhaps I can picture it this way. Page 49
