A better option Quatrefolic ® , (6S)-5-methyltetrahydrofolate glucosamine salt, is the biologically active form of folate that completely bypasses the potentially impaired MTHFR conversion step, therefore overcoming

If, however, the person has MTHFR polymorphism, this means they produce an unstable MTHFR enzyme with reduced activity, which is the final step in the conversion process. People with MTHFR polymorphism therefore have a lower ability to convert inactive forms of folate and folic acid into the biologically active 5-MTHF form. This results in a significant variation in how efficiently folic acid is converted to the bioactive form, meaning that even people who take folic acid can be deficient in folate, increasing the risk of adverse health outcomes. Cutting-edge research shows how much MTHFR polymorphism is implicated in chronic disease states and how folate nutrition may contribute to replacing adequate methylation and overall health. However, active folate 5-MTHF supplements are optimally absorbed to exert biological activity, and directly bypass the entire folate metabolisation which is potentially impaired by MTHFR polymorphism.

the problem of people with polymorphisms in the folate- related enzyme, and can better guarantee health benefits. It passes the gastric barrier and is absorbed mainly in the small intestine by a carrier-mediated mechanism, which ensures a higher folate uptake. References available on request.

Quatrefolic ® is considered a “finished” folate, meaning the body can use it immediately without any kind of metabolisation.
