Volunteer Services Volunteers play an essential role in our nonprofit organization. Whether engaging with our patients, providing support at events, advocating in the community as ambassadors of our work, or sewing keepsakes for families who are grieving, they make a tremendous difference in the lives of everyone we serve.
Grief Support for Adults
The Elizabeth Hospice’s licensed counselors and trained staff guide people of all ages through grief and loss. We provide a safe, supportive, and confidential environment for adults and children to address their feelings and learn healthy coping skills. Services, which include individual counseling sessions, support groups, workshops, and crisis interventions, are open to everyone in the community, including those who do not have a patient affiliation with The Elizabeth Hospice.
“My grief counselor was the light in my darkness. He answered my questions and reassured me that the way I was feeling was healthy after the loss of my husband Glenn. He helped me see that there was a future for me. This support made all the difference in the world.” Trish , grief counseling client
“Group helps me calm down. I feel really comfortable there because I made friends with other kids who understand how I’m feeling. The best days of my life are when I come to group.” Neveah , children’s bereavement program participant
