GRCA’s certified economic development organization, the Greater Berks Develop- ment Fund (GBDF) is happy to have guided G&T Indus- tries through the purchasing procedure. “This is a great beginning for this overall 50+ acre site. We are particularly pleased that a local manufacturer, a priority target of GRCA, is leading the way on this GBDF project. G&T has been ter- rific to deal with throughout the entire process,” said Ed Swoyer , senior advisor to GBDF. In other news, The Greater Reading Chamber Alliance (GRCA) is pleased to an- nounce that Sarah Thomas will serve as keynote speaker at GRCA’s 108th Annual Din- ner. Thomas is best known as the NFL’s first female referee, joining the league as a down judge in 2015. She not only worked Super Bowl LV last season, but also was named one of Sports Illustrated's 100 Most Influential NFL Figures of All Time. The An- nual Dinner is the area’s largest gathering of business and community leaders, with an expected crowd of around 1,000 people. With the same unflappabili- ty that it takes to make a split- second call on the field, Thom- as will share key insights on overcoming adversity – and the odds – finding your pas- sion while maintaining work- life balance, decision-making, and not only succeeding as a female in a male-dominated industry but achieving break- through success for males and females alike. The Dinner will also cel- ebrate the Greater Reading business community with the Greater Reading Top Business Awards, the Entrepreneurial Excellence Awards, and the Albert Boscov Economic De- velopment Award. The dinner will be held Thursday, Sept. 9, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Santander Arena, Reading. The public is invited to join GRCA for its signature event, which provides nearly 1,000 busi- ness leaders the opportunity to network, entertain guests and clients, and celebrate the achievements of the Greater Reading business community. The event’s title sponsor is Wells Fargo . MAREJ
