2022 HIGHLIGHTS Handled 34 PACA reparation actions, representing 16 unique Western Growers shipper members, recovering over $375,000 to WG membership’s bottom line. Provided 12 PACA Sales 101 training sessions to a combination of shippers, produce associations and retailers, with education covering fresh produce best practices and specific contract compliance methods. Focused supplier coalition efforts to combat retailer practices and fee programs that are inequitable to the supplier community and eventually morph into profit centers.

Secured a Special Local Needs (SLN) permit renewal for a WG member to be used in a post-harvest methyl bromide application for export broccoli into Taiwan.

Authored monthly Produce Insights blog posts with easy-to-digest, essential produce industry best practices in shipping/receiving, how to amend sales contracts, and the crucial steps to take in alleviating loss while protecting seller’s PACA Trust rights.
