He’s committed to training, and he believes he can win every time he steps into the ring, and he finds a way to win. He adapts strategy for it. He outhustles you for it. He makes you dig deep for it. He takes you into the deep waters. He throws a variety of punches. He’s difficult to hit. He steps around you. He has great footwork. And we get on it all the time about the flaws and mistakes, and he’s able
to make them work for himself. I think you could have taken this guy and put him at any point in history and he was going to be a tough out for anybody he fought, whether it was a cruiserweight or heavyweight. If you’re in a fight with Oleksandr Usyk, you know you’re in a fight.” Anber also speaks glowingly of Usyk as a man outside the ring. “I think the ultimate compliment I can give him as a man and myself being the father of a daughter, the best I can say is he’s the kind of man you hope your daughter brings home,” he said. “He’s just an outstanding human. His beliefs, his character, nothing of what he does is fake. He’s a sincere, honest, hardworking man who lives by his beliefs and convictions, and he’s a very religious man and sticks to it. The religion is not for show. It’s serious and plays a great role in his life and raising of his kids. “At the same time, he’s absolutely incredibly funny. He’s hilarious. People don’t have any clue how funny he can be and the sense of humor he has and the love for life this guy has. I can’t say enough good things about him.”
