LETTER FROM THE President
Living the Mission: To Serve Reflections from President Annie Heidersbach
Dear Elyria Catholic Community,
At Elyria Catholic, our mission calls us to learn, worship, and serve, guided by Catholic tradition. In this edition of the Prowl , we pause to focus on the third word in that call: to serve . To serve means more than a single act of kindness—it is a way of life rooted in gratitude and love. Whether through professional vocations, ministry, volunteer commitments, military service, or the quiet daily acts of compassion that go unseen, our alumni continue to live out this part of the mission in inspiring ways. Their stories remind us that an EC education is not meant to end at graduation; it is intended to ripple outward, shaping families, communities, and even the world. As you read about these men and women, I hope you are encouraged by the many ways Panthers of every generation have answered Christ’s invitation: “Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” (Matthew 25:40). Their examples also invite each of us to consider how we, too, are called to serve—here and now, in the opportunities placed before us. I am deeply grateful to walk alongside a community where service is not only taught, but embraced and lived out with joy. Together, may we continue to build a culture where learning, worship, and service remain at the heart of all we do.
“Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” – Matthew 25:40
With gratitude,
“
