May 2016 Newsletter

Golf

As the 2016 golf season gets underway, the Handicap Committee reminds all players that in order to maintain the integrity of our handicap system, they should post every round played, except when playing alone (new beginning January 2016). Scores should be posted for any format, even when you pick up without holing out or when you skip holes. This includes playing less than a full 9 or 18 holes. If a player does not hole out, he should assign himself the score for that hole that he would have most likely have achieved, or, if he skips a hole, his handicapped score for that hole. Guidelines that detail how to post rounds are posted in the golf section of the website. We also remind players that the Handicap Committee monitors the handicap system and has imposed handicap penalties when players fail to post regular play and/or tournament scores.
