Law in 1994. Pittman’s selection as NBA General Counsel comes as his firm celebrates its 20 th anniversary. Pittman Law is marking the occa- sion with the launch of the firm’s fourth office location in Florida, the latest in Orlando. In 2010, Pittman donated $100,000 to his alma mater to establish the “Sean Pittman Schol- arship” for minority students. In 2020 and because of his decorated service as President of the Orange Bowl Committee, Pittman was selected to serve on the Big Ten Athletic Conference Anti-Hate and Anti-Racism Coalition to help address racial bias and support student-athletes in the fight against racism and hate. But that’s not all. The Tallahas- see Democrat named Pittman one of the “Top 25 Most Influential People in Tallahassee” and featured him in the article “Capitol Clout” for being a significant political insider within the constantly changing environs of Florida’s State Capitol. Pittman is ranked one of the “Top 100 Most Influential People in Florida Politics” by Influence Magazine. In addition, Florida Trend Magazine has listed Pittman among the top 500 Influential Busi- ness Leaders in the State of Florida. Florida Trend also says Pittman is “one to look for” in the new wave of politics in Florida and lists him as a “Must Know Contact” in Florida’s Capital City of Tallahassee. Pittman is the host of The Sean Pittman Show and Podcast as well as a co-host of the popular television talk show “The Usual Suspects,” airing on one of the highest watched CBS affiliates in the country.

The Florida lawyer and lob- byist recently reached a new level of achievement by being appointed General Counsel of the National Bar Association (NBA) during the organiza- tion’s Annual Convention in July. “I am excited to play a larg- er role with the NBA as the existence and importance of the organization is compound- ed by COVID-19, health care and wealth disparities, police brutality, voter suppression, and the impact these issues have on black people and our communities in America,” said Pittman. “The Na- tional Bar Association has a proud history of supporting and engag- ing America’s Black attorneys and significant issues impacting black people and communities.” During the convention, which was held virtually, the NBA, a Wash- ington, D.C.-based organization of predominantly Black lawyers and judges, made the announcement that its Board of Governors had unanimously selected Pittman to serve as General Counsel. The NBA, founded in 1925, is the largest network of predominantly black American lawyers and judges. The association has more than 66,000 members and is dedicated to being a strong voice for the rights of black people, marginalized commu- nities, and underserved populations. Pittman, the founder and man- aging partner of the Pittman Law
Group, was nominated by the NBA’s new president, Mississippi lawyer Carlos Moore (Canton-Madison (MS) Alumni 2010). “I’m pleased to have Sam Pittman serving alongside me as General Counsel,” Moore stressed before adding, “I was happy to appoint him and that the board approved him as the NBA’s legal counsel. He’s another Florida State College of Law alumnus as I am, and I’m also happy to have three Nupes as my vice presidents. I have four vice presidents, three of which are Kappas, so the Nupes are lead- ing the way in the top six positions in the association, and we are happy about that.” Pittman added, “It is a great honor and responsibility to provide reliable legal advice and guidance to President Carlos Moore, the Board of Governors, and lawyers across the country.” A Riviera Beach native, Pittman earned an undergraduate degree in
