THE KAPPA FOUNDATION

ment System, a position that is close to his heart. “My mother is a retired elementary school teacher and most of the women, and a number of the men in my community worked in the school system, as such they are beneficiaries of the Virginia Retirement System,” said Greene. “The greatest form of wealth for people of color in the United States is tied to public pension plans. I wanted to ensure that people were getting the very best service that they could from their state’s pensions plan.” The pension plan grew by $30 billion during his time on the Board. His service to the Fraternity and to the Kappa Alpha Psi® Foundation Board of Directors are also close to heart. “I want to help encourage change throughout the membership so that we see our Foundation as the true legacy of our time as Kappas not merely how we pledged. If you believe that the work that we do in Kappa is important, why not give the brothers the resources they need to do that work?” Greene’s goal is to expand the K100, the Fraternity’s execu- tive club, into an innovative and invaluable resource that is synonymous with the most successful men in Fraternity. “The work that Director Greene has done to elevate the vision and the impact of the K-100 is simply phenomenal,” said Michael J. Dubose, Foundation President. “We look forward to implementing unveiling that new vision in the near future. In addition, Direc-

tor Greene has been an impactful voice on the Board who has provided innova- tive and strategic ways for us to reach and engage our corporate partners.” 2020 saw the expansion of Greene’s legacy when his son, Justin R. Greene, was initiated at George Mason Univer- sity, the Mu Mu of Kappa Alpha Psi® Fraternity. Greene’s son is the third generation of Kappa men in the family, a legacy that includes two uncles, H. Ray Davis ’62, Roy A. Davis ’66 (deceased), Honorable Donald McEachin ’80, and Roy A Davis, Jr. ‘96. “Kappa runs deep in my family and Kappa runs deep in me!”
