Lt. Col. (Ret.) William W. Walker III 1931-2021 Entrepreneur U.S. Army
Department of Recreation, Parks, and Tourism for his activities with youth. In 2018, he was inducted into the 100 Men of Distinction. He was mostly known for his community involvement with Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., where he was an active member. In addition to leading Gamma Xi as polemarch and serving as Dean of Pledges, VanLandingham was a longtime member of the Salisbury (MD) Alumni Chapter, where he held several offices in the chapter, including as polemarch. He also served on the province level as East- ern Province Region 1 Alumni Board Member and vendor coordinator. In 1990, he helped establish and orga- nize the chapter's Kappa Guide Right Basketball League, where his dedication and service continued for twenty-nine years. Through his continuous service, the Kappa Guide Right Basketball League successfully impacted the youth of Salisbury. Many of the youth contin- ued fulfilling basketball aspirations by competing on the high school, college, and professional levels. Vanlandingham was an integral part of the success of the significant Kappa fundraiser, the Kappa Kruise, which provided scholarships to local youth. Brother Thomas J. VanLandingham was preceded in death by his loving parents and dad, James McCormick; mother-in- law, Tyeace Waters; maternal grandpar- ents, Ralph and Louise Hendly; mater- nal great-grandmother, Lula Adger, and brother, Christopher Matnog. He is survived by his wife, Dana Van- Landingham; children, Essence Zhane' VanLandingham, Corey L Morton, Jr. (Marissa), and Casey L Monroe-Gaskins (Shaquille); two grandchildren, Sebas- tian Aasim Monroe-Gaskins "Bash- Bash" and Mallory Joy Morton "MJ"; brothers, Ralph VanLandingham and Brian Brissett; one sister, Terri Brissett; and a host of loving relatives, fraternity brothers, and friends.

Brother Larry L. Thomas is survived by his wife Anna (née Floyd) Thomas; two children, Latonia (Travis) Todd and Kendra Lauren Thomas; three grandchildren; one brother, Cary "KK" Thomas; one sister, Vanzel Nelson; and a host of beloved brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cous- ins, and other cherished relatives and friends.

on March 19, 2021. He was 89 years old and lived in Mount Vernon, VA.
Thomas J. VanLandingham 1965-2021 Non-Profit Executive
Walker was born on November 25, 1931 in Washington DC and raised in Indianapolis, IN where he graduated from Crispus Attucks High School in 1948 and his beloved Indiana University in 1952. A career Army Infantry officer, LTC Walker served two tours in Vietnam along with distinguished assignments in Hawaii, Thailand and Fort Bragg, NC. He earned three Bronze Stars and the Legion of Merit. After retirement, he established Logistics Applications, Inc., a successful small business headquar- tered in Alexandria, VA which provided services in Facilities Management, Information Services and Training. Walker was a Life Member of the Fraternity and an active member of the Alexandria-Fairfax (VA) Alumni Chap- ter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. where he chaired the Virginia Special Olympic Event, was a strong supporter of the Kappa Scholarship Endowment Fund and was a major sponsor of the annual golf tournament. His sons, along with two of his grandsons are members of the Bond. He was also a charter member of the Honolulu (HI) Alumni Chapter. Brother William W. Thomas J. VanLandingham (Gamma Xi 1985) entered the Chap- ter Invisible on April 14, 2021, at age 55. Thomas John VanLanding- ham, son of the
late Thomas John VanLandingham and Celestine Lyles VanLandingham, was born on July 2, 1965, in Philadelphia, PA. He received his formal educa- tion in the Philadelphia Public School system, graduating from University City High School in 1983. He graduated with a B.S. degree in business adminis- tration from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) in Princess Anne, MD. VanLandingham began his professional career at SHORE UP! Inc. in 1988. During his tenure at SHORE UP!, he served as Fiscal Assistant, Weatheriza- tion Assistant, and Head Start Site Co- ordinator and Director for the Office of Home Energy Programs, which provides financial support to eligible individuals and families. In 2018, SHORE UP! recognized him as Employee of the Year for his hard work and dedication. In the community, VanLandingham coached for the Salvation Army Basket- ball League and received several awards from the Wicomico (MD) County
