8 day tour Sicily Food Adventure
Day 3: Palermo - Erice - Marsala This morning, transfer to your next destination, the hilltop town of Erice. A hands-on cookery course with a local chef will give you the opportunity to learn more about the interesting culinary fusions, while practising (and tasting) traditional regional recipes. This afternoon, head to the southern town of Marsala, home to the much-loved fortified wines of the same name. A wine tasting will be offered after a tour of one of the best local wineries. Day 4: Marsala - Agrigento This morning, leave Marsala and head to a traditional organic olive farm. In the afternoon, travel to the Valley Today’s destination is Piazza Armerina, home of Villa Romana del Casale. After a guided tour of this extraordinary UNESCO-listed site, you’ll enjoy a delicious produce tasting of Sicilian delicacies. In the afternoon, transfer to the baroque gem of Ragusa, without a doubt one of the most beautiful cities in Italy. Day 6: Ragusa - Catania Start your day with a visit to a family-run farm in the countryside near Ragusa, After a cheese-making demonstration and a farm tour, you’ll taste samples, including ricotta made by the owners. In the afternoon, head to Catania, your base for the last two nights of the tour. Day 7: Catania After breakfast, visit La Pescheria, the colourful, loud, and pungent fish market, which is one of the oldest and biggest in Italy. Later this morning, transfer to a renowned wine cellar on Mount Etna and enjoy a wine and produce tasting for lunch, followed by a walk around the most active volcano in Europe. Return to Catania of the Temples in Agrigento. Day 5: Agrigento - Ragusa in the afternoon, and in the evening your leader will recommend an excellent local restaurant where you can enjoy a farewell dinner. Day 8: Catania - UK Today you’ll head to the airport for your return fight to the UK.
