Welcome to Amarugia Cattle Company, located in the historic foothills of the Amarugia Highlands of Cass County, in Archie, Missouri. The Osborn family has deep roots in this land and in Missouri agriculture.

Our family farm was recognized as a Missouri Century farm in 2005. Throughout four generations, our family has believed in hard work, taking care of the land, and raising good cattle and we are proud to carry on this tradition. Today, those same values are at the heart of Amarugia Cattle Company and our registered Simmental program. We strive to raise sound, functional cattle with good genetics and the qualities needed to become productive members of their new herds. We are grateful for your confidence in our cattle and hope that your heifer will become a productive and valued part of your herd for many years to come.

MISSOURI SIMMENTAL ASSOCIATION FALL HARVEST SALE 2026

At Fire Sweep Ranch, we raise registered Simmental seedstock with a simple philosophy: build the cow, and the profit is in the progeny she produces over her lifetime. We believe the cow is the foundation of any successful herd, which is why our females are expected to prove themselves through longevity, fertility, hardiness, and the ability to consistently raise a quality calf. Our cattle have to work in the real world—our pastures are dominated by fescue and flint rock—and our herd reflects that environment, with an average cow age of 11 years. We select bulls based on phenotype and proven ability to produce quality progeny. Our program is built around influential females such as SC Robin’s Kiss and 3CF Chyna Rose, a Fleckvieh female. We began nearly 20 years ago as a family of five, with children who simply wanted to show cattle and a desire to put Christ first in our lives.

Greetings from West Nodaway Simmentals in NW Missouri. We are Connor and Heather Nicholas along with our almost 2-year-old daughter, Stevie. Our operation was established by my late father, Terry Nicholas, in 1984. Raising cattle is all I’ve ever known and we are blessed with the opportunity to build upon what my father started. We specialize in raising sound, functional, breeding bulls and maternally made females that help propel our clients’ programs forward. Our herd is driven by a strict AI program, utilizing pillar sires of the breed while introducing new, exciting genetics. We are also dipping our toe into embryo transfer. We believe this will increase the quality of cattle we’re able to offer. Please feel free to reach out or find us on sale day. We love talking cattle!

WS MISS SUGAR C4 If you are looking for a bull to add pounds to your calf crop, you need to take a serious look at this bull! Check out his EPDs, then take a look at his actual performance: an 83-pound birth weight, 748-pound actual weaning weight, 853-pound adjusted weaning weight, and 1,200-pound yearling weight. We have his younger brother at home, and he was even more impressive at weaning. We are retaining every female produced from this flush because they are the kind of stout, powerful females we want in our own herd. If you don’t get this bull bought, be sure to take a look at the flushmate embryos we have consigned. They have the same powerful genetic potential. Well as you can see the weather did not cooperate for us to get this May heifer weaned in time to get a picture turned in for the catalog but she is way too good to miss this event! This is a full sister to Cealy Bedwell’s red heifer that sold here two years ago. She is the black strip faced version! This daughter of Ruby is just as big bodied, big legged and is possibly a little sleeker necked than Cealy’s was. For those that don’t remember Cealy had a banner year with her heifer including champion foundation Simmental female at the MO State Fair and champion Extravaganza percentage female. We see a similar future for this one.Calving Ease Retention Index (CER = 39.6).

“Oh, Penelope, the miles we have traveled and the memories we have made! If you’re looking for a heifer that has been there and done that, Penelope is your girl. She has already been through the ring nearly a dozen times, including on some of the biggest stages. This heifer is as close to bombproof as they come. She is the kind that can take a kid from liking showing to absolutely loving it, and she doesn’t have a mean bone in her body. Sophie has been incredibly blessed by the success Penelope and her dam, Millie, have had this summer. The pair were named Reserve Overall Purebred Bred-and-Owned and Ninth Overall Owned at Junior Nationals. They were also named Champion Purebred FFA Cow/Calf Pair and Champion Purebred Cow/Calf Pair in the Open Show at the Missouri State Fair. Penelope was named Reserve Calf Division Champion in the FFA Show and brought home a couple titles at the county-fair level as well. Bottom line: If you need a safe heifer with tons of personality, one you can confidently turn your kids loose with and the entire family can enjoy, pay attention here!

Prada has been our pick all summer and fall long. This is the type of female that we are most successful with in the ring and the pasture. She is big topped, barreled bellied and has the structure to last. Her Progressive dam is rising to the top of our program fast. Her maternal grandmother LHT Ms Remedy 134J was our pick from Trauernicht fall sale in 2021 and Sophie showed the wheels off of her. Earning her many titles. We feel the future is bright for this heifer and the Extravaganza would be a nice fit for her. When she is done there, raise them powerful bulls. Prada also has some pretty good numbers on paper!

An awesome built female that will be fun for any junior to haul around next summer. Big bodied, sound at the ground, and who isn’t a sucker for a beautiful white face. Check out the bottom side of her pedigree. Broker x Hayleigh both were triple crown winners, and both are producing cattle that get it done in the pasture. This girl was raised on a first calf heifer that did an amazing job. Give this one some feed and time and you won’t be disappointed. Halter broke and ready to go!

This heifer has caught our eye since she was little and keeps getting better every day. She is sired by the young bull, Swagger. She has a stylish look, plenty of depth, and moves well on her feet and legs. She is also calm and easy to work with, making her a great choice for a junior exhibitor. After her show career, we believe she will make a dependable cow. We are excited to offer this promising Swagger daughter!
