AICC Mexico celebrated its 20th anniversary with a re- ception and dinner, where Marco Ferrara of Carton Sulta- na was inducted into the AICC Mexico Hall of Fame. In the annual election of officers, Sergio Menchaca of Eko Empaques in Guanajuato was elected president of AICC Mexico. He told members that he looked forward to serving them in the coming year, saying it would be an- other year of growth for the Association and the industry in Mexico On the event’s closing day, Friday, November 19, the group was hosted by Eduardo Posada, CEO of Grupo Gon- di, at Papel y Empaques Gondi Monterrey, where members toured the recently constructed paper machine Number 7, which can produce 400,000 tons of recycled container- board annually. The completion of the mill in January of 2021, raised Grupo Gondi’s total containerboard capacity to 1.1 million tons per year.
