BFA ‘25 Theatrical Design and Technology. Izzy is beyond delighted to be a part of the 2025 Emerson Senior Showcase. Having spent the past few years exploring theatre, be it set designing for a student organization or helping hang and focus lights for the theatre department, Izzy has comfortably found their place in the world of costume construction. During their time at Emerson, Izzy has assisted costumes on two Emerson Stage shows and has been working in the Emerson Costume shop for the past two years. Eager to learn more, they are currently seeking out a graduate program to better develop their sewing vocabulary and draping skills.

BFA ‘25 Theatrical Design and Technology. Grace Elphinstone is a Senior at Emerson College. With a concentration in Lighting, she has worked on both electrics and design teams for Emerson Stage and student organizations. Emerson Stage Credits: Paris, The Loyals, Bonnets, …The Great Comet of 1812, Amour, Red Wolf. Her design for Emerson Stage’s Amour sparked an interest in lighting for musicals and concerts. Grace has also fostered a deep appreciation for dance after training in ballet for years. She hopes to continue being a part of live performances where music and dance intertwine in the future.

BFA ‘25 Theatrical Design and Technology. Madeline is a senior at Emerson College concentrating in costume design. Raised on the ocean and deep in the woods, Madeline finds inspiration from natural elements and the surrounding community. She has explored millinery, creature construction, puppetry, and has found joy in making the fantastical tangible. She designed Imogen Says Nothing directed by Rebecca Goodheart, was an Assistant Costume Designer on The Impracticality of Modern-Day Mastodons , and wardrobe supervised Bonnets: How Ladies of Good Breading are Induced to Murder handling large amounts of stage blood. Madeline Has also costumed for films such as Speedwell directed by Jack Reiber, The Sundowner directed by Michael Gilbertie, built a monster for SuperTall directed by Yuli Hachmon, and did the monster make up for Gray Hulk directed by Jack Reiber.

BFA ‘25 Theatrical Design and Technology. Liv Miller (she/her) is a Hair and Makeup Designer with a concentration in special effects. Her most recent design was her final show at Emerson College, I Love XXX. She has also worked with the hair and makeup team at the Boston Ballet on two shows so far, the Fall Experience (2024), and Mikko Nissinen’s The Nutcracker (2024). Her favorite shows are the ones where it gets the most bloody as she also recently designed the H/M for the bloody punk comedy Bonnets: How Ladies of Good Breeding are Induced to Murder Directed by Annie G. Levy in 2023 at Emerson College, and recently was the SFX makeup technician/designer on a gruesome Emerson student thesis horror film; BabyBird that comes out spring 2025. She received her BFA in Theatre Design/Technology from Emerson College with a concentration in hair and makeup design. She is currently based in Boston, MA and is working towards further certifications in cosmetology and specialized FX makeup techniques. BFA ‘25 Theatrical Design and Technology. Ava Scanlon is a scenic designer and multidisciplinary artist with a background in fine arts. Based on the East Coast, she is completing her BFA in Theater Design and Technology at Emerson College (Class of 2025). Ava specializes in scenic design, props construction, and scenic artistry, with additional experience in hair and makeup design. Her Emerson Stage credits include Bat Boy: The Musical, Imogen Says Nothing, and Head Over Heels (Scenic Designer), as well as work on Cabaret (Scenic Charge) and A Doll’s House (Props Lead). She has collaborated with regional theaters, including Music Mountain Theater and Bucks County Playhouse, where she is currently a Scenic Associate for She Loves Me.
