HISTORY One of five schools at the Central Asian University, CAU Business School was established with the aim of becoming a leading institution for innovative business education throughout the region. The university’s roots lie in the foundation of Akfa University in 2019, which was renamed as CAU in 2023 to highlight the institution’s potential to improve education and access to research for students across the Central Asia region. COURSES CAU Business School offers a wide range of programmes, from undergraduate degrees in accounting and finance, international business, economics, management, marketing, PR management and education management to professional MBA programmes. Across its courses and curricula, the school employs the case-based method of teaching extensively to develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills among all students. It has also established a number of international programme partnerships with institutions that include CBS International Business School in Germany and Colorado State University in the US.
LOCATION CAU Business School is situated in Tashkent, the capital and largest city of Uzbekistan. Home to an estimated three million inhabitants, the city also has the highest population in Central Asia. A business hub for the region, Tashkent is at the centre of recent changes to Uzbekistan’s economy and international outlook, as embodied by the creation of the Tashkent City business district and an ongoing expansion to the capital known as New Tashkent. The newly constructed CAU campus, meanwhile, is designed to accommodate up to 10,000 students, allowing for the university’s continued growth in the coming years.
