The Becker Daggerboard is an innovative solution for vessels with Wind Assisted Propulsion Systems (WAPS). With over 75 years of hydrodynamic expertise, Becker combines decades of rudder design with the latest insights into wind propulsion to address a key challenge: leeway. WAPS technologies generate both thrust and lateral forces, which cause drift, course deviation and increased drag. The Becker Daggerboard – a fully retractable underwater fin system – minimises leeway and enables vessels to realise the full power-saving potential of wind propulsion.
