May 4th is sometimes referred to as Star Wars Day. “May the force be with you” is a quote that is often said in the Star Wars movies. Okay, fine, Star Wars Day isn’t a federal holiday, but it gives die-hard fans of the movies a good excuse to watch the movies over again. Why is Star Wars important? Firstly, we need to ask ourselves this simple question, how has Star Wars impacted our culture and society in this day and age. When I hear the title of this movie, I automatically think of the scene in Star Wars, where Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker are battling it out and then Luke is hanging off the bridge, and Darth Vader says, “I am your father,” and then Luke screams, “NOOOOOOOOO!” This is 2017, the year that makes Star Wars forty- years-old, but it is still being celebrated by new generations with recent movies that are coming out. The two movies in the series, that made most money are the movies released in 2015 and 2016. That would mean that we can make an even more popular movie in the series, than we did back then.
