aspects of the Person and work of the Lord Jesus, as the Sacrifice sufficient for every need of the human soul. The first three were “ sweet savour offer ings” and the last two “non-sweet- savour offerings,” and called: (1) the burnt offering; (2) the»meal offering (R.V.); (3) the peace offering; (4) the sin offering; and (5) the trespass offering. The first three represent the perfections which God the Father finds in His Son; the last two portray Christ as the Sin-bearer for a guilty world. In the sinless character and life of Christ the Father found delight, but when the Son became a sin-offer ing, a curse, for us, the Father turned away His face from His well-beloved Son who uttered that heart-searching cry from the cross, “My God, my God, why hast Thou forsaken Me?” He was in that hour the complete fulfillment of the non-sweet-savour offering for the sins of mankind. It is significant that when the Holy Spirit described the five offerings in the opening chapters of Leviticus, He began with the sweet-savour offerings, which were a delight to God; but when the sinner brought his sacrifice to the brazen altar, he reversed the order, presenting first the sin offering and the trespass offering. A sinner must meet God on the basis of blood shed for the redemption of sin before he can go on in consecration, commu nion and fellowship. Only a regener ated heart can enjoy God; only a redeemed soul has His peace. HIS HOUR Q. What did Christ mean by “ my hour” or “ mine hour” ? A. He referred to the cross. In the last prayer before the cross He said to the Father, “ Father, the hour is come.” This was His hour of atone ment for the sins of men. _______ __ Readers are invited to submit questions to both Dr. Narramore and Dr. Talbot. prophet, and those men and women whose names are not written in the book of life. W e know also from Jude 6 that the fallen angels who followed Satan in his rebellion against God will be there. Hell was never meant for human beings. We read in Matthew 25:41 that it was “ prepared for the devil and his angels.” God made a way for all men and women to escape that awful place when He gave His Son to die on the cross that “whosoever be- lieveth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” But if people will by-pass the cross of Calvary, thus turning away from the only salvation there is, in Christ, they will spend a never-ending eternity with the devil. God is “not willing that any should perish” (II Peter 3:9) so if they go to the lake of fire to be tormented for ever and ever, it is by their own choice. You remember how Jesus wept over Jerusalem, saying “ I would . . . but ye would not,” and that is a per fect picture of Christ’s yearning over all the lost for whom He died. We re-echo the w o r d s of the prophet, “Why will ye die?” The Lord says, “ Come to Me that ye might have life.” OLD TESTAMENT OFFERINGS Q. 7 am much interested in the Old Testament tabernacle in the wilder ness with its types. Would you please tell me a little about the significance of the five offerings? A. Our space does not permit an ex tensive answer to this question. There is a great blessing awaiting those who study the tabernacle with the under standing that it in all its details is symbolical of Christ in His Person and work as Saviour, Lord and King. The five offerings show what the Son of God is to the Father, and what in grace He became to sinners. When viewed as a whole, they portray in shadow and in type the one perfect offering of Christ. When considered separately, they set forth the different

PERSECUTION OF JEWS Q. What is the real reason why men like H itler and Eichmann and great nations of the world have never been able to exterminate the Jews? A. Because they come up against the sure promises of God to Israel. For in stance, although Israel herself has dis obeyed God, note the promise in Levit icus 26:44: “ I will not cast them away, neither will I abhor them, to destroy them utterly.” God has an everlasting covenant with the Jews. Would you like to know how insurmountable are the ob stacles that face those who would de stroy Israel? Then r e a d Jeremiah 31:35-37: “ Thus saith the Lord, which giveth the sun for a light by day, and the ordinances of the moon and of the stars for a light by night, which di- videth the sea when the waves thereof roar; the Lord of hosts is his name: “ If those ordinances depart from be fore me, saith the Lord, then the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before me for ever. “Thus saith the Lord: If heaven above can be measured, and the foun dations of the earth searched out be neath, I will also cast off all the seed of Israel for all that they have done, saith the Lord.” And again in Isaiah 66:22: “ For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the Lord, so shall your seed and your name remain.” Men break their promises; nations scrap their agreements; but God keeps His Word. LAKE OF FIRE Q. Is the lake of fire hell, and who w ill occupy it? A. Yes, the lake of fire is hell. For the permanent occupants of hell look at Revelation 19:20 and 20:10-15. They include the devil, the beast, the false
