Beta Gamma-Colorado Puts Their Hearts in Heart Week Philanthropy Events The Beta Gamma Chapter of Alpha Phi at the University of Colorado recently hosted a weeklong philanthropy event in March dedicated to supporting women’s heart health. During Heart Week, members came together to raise awareness around this critical women’s health issue “Every event served as a powerful reminder of the incredible impact we can have when we stand together for a cause,” Annie High , vice president of marketing for Beta Gamma- Colorado , shared on Instagram. “This week wasn’t just about fundraising; it was about showing up for one another and making a real difference. Being part of this sisterhood means being part of something larger than ourselves, and we’re incredibly proud to support a cause so close to our hearts.” The chapter kicked off the week’s festivities with Alpha Pie, a fun and light-hearted event where people donated to the Alpha Phi Foundation in exchange for the chance to pie our members in the face. “The girls who volunteered to get pied wore big pink trash bags, adding to the playful atmosphere,” Annie shared. “Alpha Pie saw a fantastic turnout, drawing participants not only from our sorority but also from other sororities, fraternities and even non-Greek individuals.” The chapter hosted Chick-Phi-A the following day, where members sold Chick-Fil-A sandwiches to raise money for their cause. That Wednesday, Beta Gamma partnered with the Phi Kappa Psi fraternity to bring a petting zoo to our chapter’s front lawn. “It was a huge success with so many people showing up to meet and pet the adorable animals,” Annie recalled. “The event was a crowd favorite and brought people from all over campus together for a great cause.” The last two days of Heart Week included Beta Gamma hosting a Kona Ice Truck with proceeds benefitting the Foundation and, unfortunately, a planned blood drive that was cancelled. Despite that setback, the week overall was a success. More than 700 people from the Greek and non-Greek community attended the week’s events, and Beta Gamma raised $4,551.22 for the Foundation and women’s heart health.
