Milwaukee Alums Have Doubled Their Fun We are thrilled to share that the Milwaukee Alumnae Community of Alpha Phi has more than doubled its membership over the last year. In 2023, the alumnae chapter was comprised of approximately 20 dedicated members. Now, the chapter is over 40-sisters strong. And with such a thriving alumnae community comes lots of reasons to celebrate, including sisters who have been members of Alpha Phi for 65 or more years! “We recently honored five lovely sisters who received their 65- year Alpha Phi certificates,” shared Roxanne L. Baumann (Delta Sigma-Wisconsin Stevens Point) , the Milwaukee Alumnae Chapter’s community president. “These ladies are known as our ‘Golf Goddesses’ because they play nine holes of golf every Friday in the summer and then go to lunch together. We are so blessed with their involvement with our alumnae group!” Congratulations to our Gamma Upsilon-Wisconsin Milwaukee sisters Barbara Born Donohue, Judith Kalt Loose, Beverly Umaske Keller, Susan Rusch Fix and Donna Bubolz Hahn on 65 years of Alpha Phi! Additionally, the Milwaukee Alumnae Community also recently celebrated nine members reaching their 50-year membership milestone: Sharie Lynn Kaminski (Delta Kappa-Wisconsin La Crosse), Roxanne Baumann (Delta Sigma-Wisconsin Stevens Point), Linda Robnett Short (Delta Psi-Wisconsin Oshkosh), Donna Olson Zarek (Iota-Wisconsin), Bonnie Caravella (Delta Kappa-Wisconsin La Crosse), Michele Warner Moore (Epsilon Beta-Butler), Pat Crone Rye (Gamma Nu-Miami University), Kathleen Sedlak Ehley (Gamma Upsilon-Wisconsin Milwaukee) and Kathryn Zutz Wiskow (Gamma Sigma-Wisconsin Stout). “Alpha Phi is a lifelong sisterhood — not just for your college years,” Roxanne implored. “While it’s central during your collegiate experience, life changes as we grow. As alumnae, we all go through seasons — careers, families, kids, aging parents — that can make it hard to stay active. And that’s okay. What matters is that we continue to support our local alumnae community, even if we can’t always show up in person. Your dues help sustain the chapter so that it’s always here when you can participate.”

“I became the CA at Florida Tech in 2014 and served in that position until 2022 when I had the honor of becoming the CCA for both Florida Tech and the University of North Florida,” Andrea said. “Since the beginning of my role as CA, I always felt it was important to set an example as a leader and a sister. Being a collegiate member is challenging, and serving as a leader in Alpha Phi can sometimes feel overwhelming for the Executive Council and officers. I always wanted the entire chapter to feel that yes, I was their CA, but I was (and still am) their sister. I carry this philosophy with me today as CCA for two extraordinary chapters. Andrea continued, "I think an unexpected perk of volunteering with these chapters is that although I guide them through the ups and downs of being in a sorority, I have learned and gained so much from all the collegians, alumnae and volunteers. My life has been enriched greatly by all these women.” Andrea encourages Alpha Phi’s collegiate members to take advantage of every opportunity the Fraternity presents to develop their leadership skills like becoming a director, officer or running for Executive Council. “Alpha Phi is for a lifetime,” Andrea shared. “I am proof of that along with the many women who I have the privilege of working with and getting to know from all over the country.”
