Looking for something exciting that the whole family can do together this summer? With stock cars, mini-sprints, demolition derbies and other fast-paced fun, the Lincoln County Raceway in North Platte delivers a full season of thrills for all ages. On Saturday nights from April through September, the dirt track comes alive with the sound of revving engines as dedicated drivers vie for titles and bragging rights. Located on the Lincoln County Fairgrounds, the Lincoln County Raceway is conveniently accessible from Highway 30, with ample free parking available. The grandstand accommodates covered seating for up to 2,500 guests and a press box for announcers, in addition to concession stands, food trucks and restroom facilities. Defined by open-wheel vehicles designed to run on short ovals, circular dirt or paved tracks, sprint cars can reach speeds upwards of 100 miles per hour — a perfect fit for the semi-banked 3/8-mile Lincoln County Raceway grounds. Die-hard racing enthusiasts and first-time attendees alike will love the adrenaline rush of the high speed and stiff competition. Just be forewarned — because sprint cars typically don’t have mufflers, they can be loud. Bringing along some form of hearing protection is always a good idea. Saturdays throughout May, June and July highlight late model High Plains Dirt cars, the Great Plains International Motor Contest Association tour and the Sandhills Shootout Summer Nationals in various divisions. July 28 marks a rare weekday event with the Monday Night Madness Nutrien Ag Solutions Fair Race at the conclusion of the annual Lincoln County Fair. Two more dates follow in August to showcase late-model High Plains Dirt cars, Dirt Crown Hobby Stocks and IMCA Championship race events. The second annual Metal Mayhem Demolition Derby wraps up the season on Saturday, Sept. 13. BST Promotions and BST Racing oversee management of the Lincoln County Speedway, along with tracks at the El Paso County Raceway, Phillips County Raceway, Cortez Fairground Speedway, Lakeview Motorsports Park and Mosca Motorsports Park, all in Colorado. Unless otherwise specified, adult tickets for Lincoln County Speedway racing events are $20 each; seniors 65 and up and active military (with ID) are $15; teenagers
