The Word of God reveals the mighty God and unveils the frailty of man. In this psalm we find the writer singing with joy about the person of his God. God is his refuge and source of power, his helper, and the One who preserves and protects him. God.is the giver of life and the avenger of His people. He is present in time of need and is sufficient in every case. His Word produces life in the soul and fruitfulness in activity. THE WORD REVEALS GOD’S POWER Psa. 46:1 The power of God is present to help His people and to hinder His enemies. The power of God is revealed in His authority over mountains and rivers and seas. God has power because He is the, living God who walks among His people and knows the timetable for the events of this world and the next. God is not moved by the raging of the heathen nor by any physical disturbance. God invites His people to see the manifestation of His power in nature and in human life. THE WORD REVEALS GOD’S PRESENCE Psa. 46:7 The enemies of God were deceived into thinking that when they nailed Jesus to the cross they had shut God out of their lives. No longer would He attempt to rule over them. No longer would He command their actions and thoughts. Jesus came out of the tomb in His body to be Lord of Heaven and earth. Even now He is among His people who gather in His Name. Should He withdraw, chaos would result both on earth and in Heaven. death and eternity. His provision is given that men may have peace, joy, and profit. He has provided for every exi gency and knows how to meet emer gencies. He calls on us to be still and know Him as He is present by the Spirit. He is present as the Lord of hosts who controls men and nations, wind and weather. He is the great Provider and Giver. THE WORD REVEALS GOD’S PROMISE Mark 4:8 We are assured from the Scripture that God will keep His Word and fulfill His promises. He has reminded us that His Word is like a fire, like a hammer, like water, like light, and like seed. He has assured us also that the entrance of that Word into the soul produces a fruitful life in varying degrees. He has informed us of the value of His Word and gives proof abundant that His prom ises are kept to the letter. Dec. 10, 1950 THE BIBLE IS INTERESTING Psa. 119:1-5; Luke 15:1-24 The Word of God reveals God’s ac curacy in the mineral kingdom, the veg etable kingdom, the animal kingdom, and in the celestial kingdom. The Word of God is accurate in its statements con cerning chemistry, astronomy, geology, physics, mathematics, music, finance, so ciety, adventure, discovery, and litera ture. Whether one studies birds, grass, stars, or society, the Word of God holds the soul entranced with its revelations. THE SHEPHERD JESUS DESIRED HIS SHEEP Luke 15:6 The shepherd wanted to protect, pre serve, and provide for the sheep. He knew that outside the fold everything
