Auto Finish on Edge Logic The Auto Finish on Edge Logic function starts and stops a measurement using Edge Logic, and probes an evenly distributed number of points specified in the Auto Finish Settings screen. This function is supported for lines, circles and arcs.
Configure Auto Finish and Enable Auto Finish on Edge Logic Specify the number of points to auto finish a measurement for each feature type: 1 Display the System menu System toolbar>System menu button 2 Display the Settings screens menu System menu>Settings screens button 3 Display the Measure Settings screen Settings screen menu>Measure 4 Enter the desired number of points to auto finish a measurement for each feature type into the fields provided 5 Set the Auto Finish Enabled field to Yes 6 Set the Auto Measure on Finish Measurement field to Yes. 7 Press the Done button
NOTE Point values must be equal to or greater than the minimum required for each feature type. The minimum required for each feature type is described in Points Required for Feature Measurements in Section 3: Probes.
Using Auto Finish on Edge Logic for Measuring Lines To use the Auto Finish on Edge Logic function to measure a line: 1 Define the start point. Cross the line edge at the start point
twice in opposite directions to start the measurement. The Measure Prompt screen will display “Measure anything”. 2 Define the stop point. Cross the line edge at the stop point twice in opposite directions. The system will then move the stage to probe additional points until the total number of points equals the number specified earlier for lines in the Line Auto Finish settings field. The measurement will be completed and the line feature will be shown in the Feature List and in the Feature Detail screen.
