MetLogix M2 User Manual

Playing Programs with Permanent Fixtures (CNC only) When programs are loaded with permanent fixturing to a CNC system, the program will execute immediately and fill the Feature List with fresh measurement data. It is not necessary to ask the system to play the program back after loading the program. Upon program completion, the status indicator at the bottom of the Feature List shows that the program is finished, and the blue program options screen will appear. At this point the user may choose to: • Re-run the program on the new part • Clear all feature data and begin a new measurement session with a new part • Exit the program playback mode and display the measurement results • Edit the current part program file

When the user re-runs the program on a new part, the system prompts the user to determine if the same part registration can be used again. If the part will be in the same location, the system will run the program without requiring a new part registration. If the part location is different, the system will require a new registration. Playing Programs with Temporary or no Fixtures The difference between playing a program with no fixturing and playing a program with temporary fixturing is: • No fixturing: The user must register each part before measuring • Temporary fixturing: The user must register the first part. After that, the system retains the part registration. In CNC systems, the system will register and measure automatically. In manual systems, the user will be guided through registration and measurements.

To play a part program: 1 Load the part as explained earlier if necessary. 2 Press the Play button to initiate program playback System toolbar > System menu > Play button A default name will appear at the top of the Feature List if the program was not previously saved. The Blue Pin in the Feature List will indicate the current step in the program playback. A program status bar will also be displayed at the bottom of the Feature List. The status will either be Playing or Paused/Inspecting . This playback state can be toggled by pressing or clicking on the status indicator.

A red dot will guide the user to register the part
