At the beginning of the day: d ¨cFn/d ¤cFn I give thanks to You, living and eternal Sovereign, that You have returned my soul to me with compassion – great is Your faithfulness. On putting on Tsitsit: KEx ¨A Blessed are You, our Living God, Sovereign of the universe, whose commandments make us holy and who commands us concerning the commandment of Tsitsit (tassels). When Tallit and Tefillin are worn, the following are said: Meditation before putting on the Tallit: i ¦k §x ¨A Bless the Eternal, my soul! My Living God, how great You are, i ¦p §p ¦d I prepare to wrap myself in this Tallit to fulfil the command of my Creator. As it is written in the Torah: ‘Each generation shall put a tassel on the corners of their clothes.’ 2 And just as I cover myself with a robe in this world, so may my soul deserve to be robed in a beautiful robe in the world to come, as in Eden. Amen. clothed in majesty and glory, wrapped in light like a robe. You spread out the heavens like a tent. 1
