Tennis: Adult Outdoor (Beg 2.0-2.4) • AGES 18 AND UP Improve your game and have fun testing your skills against other players at your level! Bring your racquet and wear comfortable clothing and tennis shoes. If class is canceled due to weather, up to two makeups are held at regular class time the week after the last class. BEGINNERS have never played tennis or have played a limited amount, but not on a regular basis. Emphasis is on the introduction of forehand, backhand, serve, shot placement, positioning, scoring and rules. NTRP Rating: 2.0-2.4. ADVANCED BEGINNERS have knowledge of scoring and rules and may have had some lessons, but lack on-court experience; they can keep a ball in play with others of similar ability. Emphasis is on improving the basic strokes, positioning, shot placement, footwork and serve consistency. NTRP Rating: 2.5-2.9. INTERMEDIATES can place shots with moderate success and can sustain a rally at a slow pace. They are not yet comfortable with all strokes and lack consistency in serving. Emphasis is on moving ground strokes, serve consistency and placement, spin serve, service return, net play and doubles strategy. NTRP Rating 3.0-3.5. Two levels of lessons are available and may be scheduled with one to three persons in a group. Instruction with one of our teaching pros is available at a cost of $69 per hour. Lessons with one of our USPTA/USPTR Certified Pros are $79 per hour. Purchase a five-lesson package and save 10%. Purchase a ten-lesson package and save 15%. Tennis: Cardio Tennis (Advanced 3.5+) • AGES 18 AND UP Have fun playing tennis while improving your fitness level! Get a great workout in your target heart-rate zone while working through tennis and fitness drills. Led by our certified instructors, Cardio Tennis is designed for Advanced Beginner/Low Intermediate players and above. Players enrolled at the incorrect level may be removed. Coed volleyball leagues are offered at A, B, C and Rec levels. Placement of teams within a division is at the discretion of the park district. Leagues take place at the Fort Hill Activity Center, featuring wood floors, new equipment and high ceilings! Teams returning from the spring 2023 league receive priority registration. Individuals may add their names to an interest list by emailing batwell@ napervilleparks.org. Names will be provided to team captains who need additional players. Dates listed are tentative. Captains will be contacted with schedules. All fees are per team plus $20 per nonresident player.
