HOLIDAY HIGHLIGHTS Germany | Switzerland | Austria | Shuttle train Taesch-Zermatt | Glacier Express - Brigg – Chur | Guided Tour at Appenzeller Cheese | Entrance to Abbey of St Gall DAY ONE – Arrival We depart from your home early and travel south to Dover for your crossing to Calais. On arrival we continue our journey to our first hotel the Mercure Hotel Saarbrücken Süd in Germany. A set 3 course dinner Today we travel to Switzerland taking in the breathtaking views. Switzerland is one of the world’s prettiest countries. Its landscape of impressive mountain ranges and beautiful villages. We make comfort stops on route and arrive at our hotel where we enjoy dinner this evening and settle in for our 2 nights stay. DAY THREE – Shuttle Train Taesch-Zermatt menu will be served this evening. DAY TWO – Travel to Switzerland This morning, after breakfast, we head to Taesch and take the shuttle train through the mountains to Zermatt, home to the iconic Matterhorn. This charming, car-free village offers a peaceful atmosphere, scenic streets, and cosy cafés. Explore landmarks like Kirchbrücke Bridge or the 15th-century St. Mauritius Church, featuring a painted ceiling of Noah’s Ark. After soaking in the beauty of Zermatt, we return to Taesch and our hotel to relax before dinner. DAY FOUR – Glacier Express and Austria This morning, we depart for Brig, a historic Swiss town and gateway to the Aletsch Glacier. From here, we board the famous Glacier Express for a scenic ride to Chur, Switzerland’s oldest city, known for its car-free old town and rich history. After time to explore, we rejoin our coach and continue to Dornbirn in Austria’s picturesque Vorarlberg region. DAY FIVE – Dornbirn Today is yours to explore Dornbirn, surrounded by stunning scenery. Take a short cable car ride for sweeping views across Austria, Germany, and Switzerland, or visit the Dornbirn Municipal Museum on the Market Square, featuring exhibits and art that trace the town’s rich history. DAY SIX – Appenzeller Cheese Guided Tour and Abbey of St. Gall After breakfast, we visit the Appenzeller Cheese Dairy for a one-hour tour to discover how Appenzeller® cheese is made. We then head to Stiftsbezirk St. Gallen, home to the UNESCO-listed Abbey of St. Gall. Explore its renowned library, vaulted cellar, and exhibition hall— including the original 9th-century Abbey map. Afterwards, we return to the hotel to relax before dinner.
DAY SEVEN – Travel to Germany After breakfast we depart Dornbirn and make our way to our overnight hotel back in Germany, just on the French border. We will be greeted with a welcome glass of fresh fruit juice. Dinner this evening will be a set 3 course menu. DAY EIGHT – Departure This morning we make our way back to Calais for our late afternoon crossing to Dover and home.
HOLIDAY HIGHLIGHTS Keukenhof Gardens | Boat Cruise | Tram Journey DAY ONE – Arrival
We depart from your home early this morning and travel south to Dover, where we’ll board the ferry for a relaxing 2-hour crossing to Dunkirk. On arrival we continue journeying to our hotel in Utrecht in the Netherlands. Upon arrival, there will be time to settle in before enjoying a set three- course evening meal, the perfect way to unwind after a day of travel. DAY TWO – Boat Cruise and Tram Journey Today we enjoy a memorable experience combining both a scenic tram and boat journey. Step back in time as we board the historic steam tram, where you’ll be served coffee and a pastry as you take in the charming Dutch countryside. This afternoon, we continue with a relaxing boat cruise from Medemblik to Enkhuizen aboard the beautifully restored Museum Ship Friesland, offering lovely views across the IJsselmeer. This evening, enjoy a delicious dinner at the hotel with a choice of two starters, two main courses, and one dessert. DAY THREE – Keukenhof Gardens After breakfast, we set off on a full-day excursion through the vibrant Dutch Bulbfields, en route to the world-famous Keukenhof Gardens – often referred to as ‘The Greatest Flower Show on Earth’. Spread across over 70 acres of beautifully landscaped parkland with 10 miles of walkways, the gardens showcase a breathtaking display of hundreds of thousands of tulips, daffodils, hyacinths and other spring blooms. Take time to explore the themed gardens, pavilions, and floral art at your leisure. This evening, return to the hotel for a relaxing dinner with a choice of two starters, two main courses, and one dessert. DAY FOUR – Departure Enjoy breakfast before we make our way back to Dunkirk for our ferry crossing and our journey home.
